Backup for the Person You Already Have.

You made the right call hiring someone. Co-managed IT gives them the security stack and the senior backup that no one person can carry alone.

An IT technician working among server racks, the kind of in-house staffer co-managed IT is built to support.
Co-Managed IT Explained

You Already Have Someone. This Is How You Back Them Up.

Co-managed IT, also called Monitored Services, means the person who handles your IT keeps running day-to-day support while PathWise IT supplies the security and management tools, keeps them tuned and maintained, and stays available as a senior resource to escalate to. It works whether that person is a full-time IT tech or simply whoever keeps things running, and it never replaces them. It stops them from carrying the whole thing alone.

What buries one capable person is everything stacked on top of the work only they can do. Co-managed splits that load in two: one half is always on, the other is there the moment you need it.

Part One · Always On

The Stack

The security and management foundation your business runs on, deployed and maintained by PathWise IT for one flat rate per device.

  • Layered Security

Protection across every device, network, and inbox, watched and kept current so nothing drifts out of date.

  • Proactive Maintenance

Patching, monitoring, and health checks running quietly in the background so problems get caught early.

  • Enterprise-Grade Tooling

The class of tools a large IT department runs, without the cost and effort of standing them up alone.

  • Tuned and Managed for You

Configured, maintained, and kept current by PathWise IT, so your person never inherits the upkeep.

Part Two · On Demand

The Resource

Senior help on the terms you set, available when the work outgrows the week. You decide how much you use and when.

  • Escalation

A senior engineer to hand the hard problems to, so nothing stalls waiting on one person.

  • Overflow

Extra capacity for when the queue backs up, a deadline lands, or the week goes sideways.

  • Project Work

Migrations, rollouts, and builds that never fit inside a normal forty-hour week.

  • Coverage

Someone who already knows your environment for when your person is on leave or out sick.

Who Does What

Your Team Keeps the Wheel. We Add What One Person Cannot.

Co-managed does not carve your work in half or take anything away from the person who handles your IT, whether that is a dedicated tech or whoever keeps things running day to day. They keep doing what only they can. We come in underneath that: a proven stack, a second set of eyes, and senior help for the things that outgrow a single pair of hands.

Stays With Your Team

The Work Only They Can Do

  • Day-to-Day Support

The helpdesk tickets, quick fixes, and the hundred small things that keep people working.

  • Your People

Onboarding, offboarding, and the accounts and access that go with them.

  • Hands and Eyes on Site

Anything physical in the building, and the person who can walk over and look at it.

  • How the Business Runs

The institutional knowledge of your systems, your workflows, and your priorities.

What PathWise IT Adds

The Support Around It

  • A Proven Framework

A tried and true security and management stack, implemented the same way it works for every business we run it for.

  • Eyes Where They Cannot Be

Monitoring, patching, and maintenance running in the background so nothing drifts while your person is heads-down.

  • An Escalation Point

A senior engineer to take the problems that outgrow one person, so nothing stalls waiting on a single set of hands.

  • Work They Cannot Get To

The projects, overflow, and deep-dive fixes that never fit inside a normal week.

The line between the two is not fixed. When their plate is full, a project lands, or something needs a specialist, it crosses to us and back on your call, never metered against you by surprise.

Tools and Monitoring Included

What Comes With Us, Already Running

Hiring the person was the expensive part, and it is the part most budgets plan for. The tools are the part that gets missed. Licensing a full security stack for one company means buying several products outright, learning each of them, keeping them current and managing the vendors behind them. We already run all of it across every client we look after, so it arrives with us at our scale rather than becoming a second budget line and a second job for the person you just hired.

Endpoint Detection and Response

EDR

Every computer is watched for behavior rather than just known viruses. Something acting like ransomware gets isolated on the spot, at two in the morning, without anybody being woken up to notice it.

Identity Threat Detection and Response

ITDR

Accounts are now the way in, not laptops. This watches the sign-ins themselves: logins from two countries an hour apart, session tokens lifted from a browser, a mailbox rule quietly forwarding to an outside address, someone granting themselves rights they should not have.

Monitoring and Patching

RMM

Agents on every machine, patches applied on a schedule, disks and drives and backups checked without anybody remembering to look. The alerts come to us, not to your person.

Email Security and Continuity

Filtering that sits beyond what your mail platform does on its own, so the convincing invoice fraud does not land. Mail is backed up separately, and web traffic is filtered wherever the laptop happens to be.

Security Awareness Training

Short, regular, and aimed at the people who will actually be targeted. Most breaches still start with somebody being asked politely to do the wrong thing.

Alert Triage

Every tool above produces noise. We read it, decide what is real and what is not, and only bring your person the things that need a human. That is the part nobody sells and everybody needs.

Still Weighing It Up

Not Sure Co-Managed Is the Right Fit for Your Team?

That is a fair question, and the honest answer depends on where your person is stretched and what you already have in place. A short conversation is enough to tell whether co-managed would actually help, or whether something else fits better. No pressure, and no pitch you did not ask for.

Get in Touch

What happens to the person who already handles our IT?

Nothing happens to them except that they get backup. Co-managed exists because you have someone worth keeping. They keep running day-to-day support, and PathWise IT adds the security stack, the maintenance behind it, and a senior resource to escalate to. Nobody gets replaced or sidelined.

How is co-managed different from fully managed IT?

With fully managed IT, PathWise IT runs everything. With co-managed, your team runs day-to-day support and PathWise IT supplies the security and management stack, keeps it maintained, and stays available for escalation and overflow. Co-managed fits when you already have capable in-house IT. Managed fits when you do not.

How does pricing work?

A flat monthly rate per device covers the security and management stack, deployed and maintained for you. Senior help is available when you need it, on the terms that fit your business, whether that is hourly, prepaid blocks, or another arrangement that suits how you work. You are never billed for work you did not ask for.

What if our IT person leaves or is out?

Coverage when your person is unavailable is one of the main reasons co-managed exists. When they are on leave, out sick, or move on, PathWise IT already knows your environment and can cover the gap or carry more of the load until you are staffed again. You are not left exposed while one person is away.

Do we have to have someone in-house for this to work?

Co-managed is built around having someone who handles your IT, whether that is a dedicated tech, an office manager, or whoever keeps things running. It does not require a full-time IT hire. If no one on your team handles it at all, fully managed IT is usually the better fit, and we are happy to talk through which one makes sense for where your business is now.
